Got a big idea for Shaun?
Calling all artists! We invite you to unleash your creativity and help transform Christchurch into a vibrant open-air gallery as part of the Big Sheep Trail.
If selected, you will design and paint one of the 30 Big Shaun the Sheep sculptures – bringing your own distinctive style to this much-loved character.
From established artists to emerging talent, we welcome designs from all cultural backgrounds, artistic traditions, and lived experiences. We’re looking for designs that capture the spirit of Shaun the Sheep; adventurous, mischievous, fun-loving, and full of humour. Bold ideas, playful storytelling, and eye-catching creativity are all encouraged.
We are providing all selected artists with the exciting opportunity to meet and connect with other artists in our creative hub. Big thanks to Online Distribution providing this space for us. There will also be a modest honorarium paid upon completion of your sculpture.
Your Big Shaun the Sheep will become part of Christchurch’s most baa-rilliant art adventure, alongside the school-designed Little Shauns, discovered by thousands of people exploring the trail and celebrated on our website, interactive trail app, and in other media.
