Schools
Bring a Little Shaun to your school!
We invite Christchurch schools to join the flock through the Big Sheep Trail learner programme. Spaces in the programme are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, so schools are encouraged to register early to secure their place.
Each participating school will foster a Little Shaun the Sheep, with students designing and painting their sculpture before it joins the Big Shaun sculptures as part of the wider flock on the trail across the city.
Schools will receive a fun in-school activation and learning resources aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum, giving students the chance to explore creativity, design, and community impact through the project.
Your Little Shaun will be displayed in an indoor city venue during the trail, celebrating the creativity of Christchurch schools. It will also be part of the Farewell Celebration, when all the Big and Little Shauns come together one final time.
Students are also encouraged to take part in fundraising activities. If their school reaches its goal, they can officially adopt their Little Shaun and give him a permanent home at their school once the trail ends.

“Enormous impact. It has been the most talked-about project we’ve done for ages and has threaded through every layer of school life.”
