Bring a Little Shaun to your school or community group!

We invite Christchurch kura and community groups to join the flock through The Big Sheep Trail School’s Programme.

Places are limited and demand is expected to be high, so registering your interest does not guarantee a spot in the flock as we want to make sure schools and groups from all areas and backgrounds as possible have the chance to be a part the trail.

Each participating school will foster a Little Shaun the Sheep, with students designing and painting their sculpture before it joins the Big Shaun sculptures as part of the wider flock on the trail across the city.

Schools will receive a resource pack that includes specially adapted lesson fillers that speak to directly to the New Zealand Draft Curriculum; giving students the chance to explore creativity, design, and community impact through the project.

Your Little Shaun will be displayed in an indoor city venue during the trail, celebrating the creativity of Christchurch tamariki and rangatahi. It will also be part of the Farewell Celebration, when all the Big and Little Shauns come together one final time.

Once the trail is over and the Farewell Weekend complete, schools and community groups will then officially adopt their Little Shauns, giving these special sculptures a lasting home and legacy beyond the trail.
