The BIG Sheep Trail 2027

Get ready to find the flock as Ōtautahi-Christchurch’s most baa-rilliant art adventure comes to town. For 10 weeks from mid-January 2027, Shaun the Sheep sculptures will transform our streets, parks, and public spaces into a vibrant, free, open-air gallery.

Each big Shaun will be ewe-niquely brought to life by talented local artists and sponsored by local businesses, and Little Shauns will decorated by our city’s schoolchildren and community groups, bringing creativity, colour, and a little mischief to the city. Gather your whānau, friends and colleagues and set out on an un-baa-lievable trail of discovery, exploring the city in a whole new way connecting art with heart.

But this trail is more than just woolly good fun – once the trail is done, each big Shaun will be auctioned off with proceeds going to charity.
The Big Sheep Trail proudly supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch, helping raise awareness and funds to create life-changing mentoring ‘friendsheep’ for local tamariki and rangatahi.
